ok, I had these boring little mirrors hanging on my kitchen wall. I knew I wanted to at least paint the frames and make them look nicer. well, then I bought the latest issue of somerset home and they had a fun article in there on some collaged mirrors. the woman who wrote the article took the mirror out of the frames, scraped the paint and the silver off the back, and then put a collage behind it. then she added more to the front on a couple of them and they were sooo cool. as soon as I read that article I knew that’s what I wanted to do with the mirrors in my kitchen. *_*;

k, so I had this box from michael’s that I didn’t know what to do with (I only had the inside of the box painted an aqua sort of color) until I got a copy of somerset studio magazine (july/august I think). there were a couple boxes featured that had shells and sand and glass bubbles and they were gorgeous. I didn’t have glass bubbles or sand, but I had other things to play with. :D I really like how it turned out. I think I might send this one to my dad.

btw, when I talk about the boars we have in our woods (that are not native to the state), I mean boars like that, not cute little pigs like wilbur.

went grocery shopping at meijer’s today. as I was loading some jars of pasta sauce onto the belt, I suddenly developed butter fingers and despite my attempts to rescue, the jar fell to the floor and went splat. I didn’t get hurt or anything, but I ended up with sauce on my feet. ZOMG TRAGEDY. >D on the upside, the sauce smelled really good so I’m hoping it tastes good as well.

when I got home and started putting the stuff away, I stepped in some cat puke while trying to avoid the garbage on the floor that the pets got in to. egg shells + bare feet = much ouchies

I’d better go get working on dinner. I was going to make a meat loaf, but I just realized both of my loaf pans are MIA. o.o I’ll figure something out. :D

The Creation Of Michigan

Once upon a time in the Kingdom of Heaven, God was missing for six days. Eventually, Michael the archangel found him, resting on the seventh day.
He inquired of God, “Where have you been?”
God sighed a deep sigh of satisfaction and proudly pointed
downwards through the clouds, “Look Michael, look what I’ve made.”Archangel Michael looked puzzled and said, “What is it?”
“It’s a planet,” replied God, “and I’ve put Life on it. I’m going
to call it Earth and it’s going to be a great place of balance.”"Balance?”, inquired Michael, still confused.
God explained, pointing to different parts of earth,
“For example, northern Europe will be a place of great opportunity and wealth while southern Europe is going to be poor; the Middle East over there will be a hot spot. Over here I’ve placed a continent of white people
and over there is a continent of black people,” God continued,
pointing to different countries. “This one will be extremely hot and arid while this one will be very cold and covered in ice.
The Archangel, impressed by God’s work, then pointed to a large
land mass and said, “What’s that one?”
“Ah,” said God. “That’s Michigan , the most glorious place on
earth. You’ll notice that it is made in the fashion of my hand, the Hand of God. There are beautiful lakes, rivers, sunsets and rolling hills. The people from Michigan are going to be modest, intelligent and humorous and they are going to be found traveling the world. They will be extremely
sociable, hard working and high achieving, and they will be known throughout the world as diplomats and carriers of peace.”
Michael gasped in wonder and admiration but then proclaimed,”What about balance, God?” “You said there would be balance!” God replied wisely, “Wait until you see the idiots I’m putting around them in Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin and Canada”

I need to think of something to have for dinner. It’s Friday. During Lent. So I’m a little bit limited on what I can make. G and I will try anything (G will try boca burgers and the like and she really likes those vegetarian mini corn dogs), but Matt was scarred by an oat burger experience and absolutely will not try any sort of vegetarian “meat” product. He also doesn’t care for fish very much, especially if it’s fish sticks like what I seem to have had in the freezer the past 4 weeks >.>.

I really miss my dad. and even though I’m a shitty daughter who couldn’t deal with her parents splitting up and didn’t hardly spend time with him while he was here, I really really wish he hadn’t moved down to key west. ;_;

I’m participating in this craft swap at sailormoon.org with some friends and I just got one of the packages in the mail today. *_* she mailed them out yesterday afternoon. o.O wth is up with the usps all of a sudden? whatever it is, it’s cool. :D

anyway, jen sent me some lovely handmade soaps. *_* I’ve been wanting some of her soaps for ages. I got some adorable little lemony hearts (they’re mine ferret! >D) and some awesome strawberry scented soap. *_* now I just have to finish my projects and send them out hopefully tomorrow. I shall be working on them while I watch top design.

I went to mcdonald’s earlier and got a vanilla cappuccino and a double cheese burger with no onions. my cappuccino tasted more like a latte at first but now it’s good (did they not stir it or what? -_-), and my burger looked like it was literally thrown together. I don’t expect perfection, but come on, you could at least make sure the 5 pickles you put on it aren’t all in a stack.

earlier this week I was at joann’s and found pretty glitters that come in packs of 6 tubes for only $1. *_* they had two different packs of the glitter, easter colors and purples and blues. the purple and blue pack is the coolest because it has ultra fine, super huge, and holographic glitter and a tube of tiny glass beads. tiny glass beads are so much fun to use.

I think I shall go watch some tv, work on my projects, and finish my cappuccino. *_*
